It wouldn’t be Apple it they didn’t name their products “i” something and now here they come with what rumours are saying will be called “iAd”. This is their new personalized mobile advertising platform that will be launched on April 7th. The platform is believed to be built on top of Quattro, the mobile advertising developer that Apple bought in January. This is just another battle in the growing war between Apple and Google.
Both are eyeing what people call the next big thing mobile and are staking their flags to prepare for the onslaught. Apple has sung a song that has attracted the attention of advertisers and consumers alike but this platform will include is nothing but speculation right now. What “iAd” is and will become is unknown but all eyes are on Apple as the both companies head towards the next beach front in their epic battle for eyeballs and influence.
What do you think, Apple’s mobile devices are as popular as they get but what will this do to other ad platforms and will this be limited to the closed Apple ecosystem? There are many questions and few answers at this point which means when April 7th comes around we expect a typical Apple reveal. What do you want to see Apple do in the advertising space and will you be the first in line?
