Brandkarma = A Social Media and Brand Mash Up

Many brands have been reluctant to partake in social media because of the lack of control. Publicis Mojo’s Australian Chief Creative Officer Craig Davis decided to create the first ever brand centric social media site done during his own time with funded my himself and private backers.

The mission is help people make better choices regarding brands and to impact how brands act for the better. Fast Company has more information on the concept in an article here.

The site is currently in beta right now and allows you to register and login using facebook connect and or twitter. It is about people getting informed about the brands they know and love.

It is about using the social space to discuss brands and where democratic action will recognize when a brand does good and call them out when they go the other direction.

You can search by brand or by categories and you fill in a questionnaire that relates to customers, investors, suppliers, employees or the planet. The ability to take a look at all a brands stakeholders is what makes it different from most sites and allows it to broaden the scope of a discussion.

It will be interesting to see it develop, head on over and take a look. Don’t keep you views to yourself and let us know what you think about the concept and how it’s executed. (Click here to jump in.)
