If video games do one thing right it’s that they immerse players in an entire game world. When hours pass feel like minutes then you know that they’re engaged. This is the perfect environment to bring the players further into the experience by making them a part of the experience.
Currently Microsoft’s in-game advertising firm Massive and Quest High-Speed Internet are right in the middle of a contest called “Protect Ur Rep” that takes the players further into the game world by putting the grand prize winner into the ads seen in-game on the Xbos 360.
This innovative contest takes place in the Xbox 360 environment through the end of March in the US. You sign up and create a poster with your avatar and choose one of 6 game themed leader boards then you compete with everyone on that board for the top spot. The rules are available on the website. (Click here)
The grand prize winner will have their avatar poster appear in the Quest High-Speed Internet dynamic ads that appear in some of the platform’s most notable games. This is the first time that players have become part of the ads in the Xbox Live/Massive environment.
For players they will become part of the very games they play and will be seen by millions of Xbox subscribers on any given day. It is getting these players even more involved in the community and using advertising on the platform that makes players take notice in a way they have not before.
