On January 14th, 2010 Nike released True City, an iPhone app that brought the cool insights of Nike Insiders of 6 European Cities. From the best digs to what happens when the sun sets these people pride themselves with being in the know of what happens in their cities. The app isn’t just a digital guide book but combines geo-tagged content, has it’s hooks into social media and was updated in real-time by actual people no robots for this app. So You got taken to town by Nike and their insiders who know the ins and outs of these cities.
The app takes real people and puts them at the forefront that allows for a specific perspective to be shown and makes some especially lucky customers not only ambassadors of the brand but the heart of the application itself all using Nike’s cool and off the cuff attitude. It isn’t an application as it is so much an experience that you take with you and discover as you make your way around these cities and that sounds like fun. I think they should of done this at the height of the travel season that would be interesting.
